Small job

WooCommerce online shop development for the Estonian market

We build a WooCommerce shop on WordPress for the Estonian market: product structure, local payments and parcel lockers, VAT, order e-mails, SEO and analytics, a tested checkout and handover training.

  • Typical scope approx. 38 h
  • Roughly 1 900 € + VAT
  • Assessment and estimate are free

You have products, buyers and a reason to sell online, but no shop yet, or the current one is holding you back. We build a shop on WordPress and WooCommerce that is set up for the Estonian and Baltic market from day one: Montonio, Maksekeskus or Stripe payments, Omniva, DPD and Smartposti parcel lockers, correct VAT and order e-mails in your customers’ language.

The result is a working shop that has been test-ordered end to end, through payment and confirmation, and that you can run yourself. The design is based on a quality theme adapted to your brand; a fully bespoke design is a larger project that we estimate separately.

What the work includes

  • Shop structure. Categories, attributes (size, colour, material) and filters are agreed before product entry, because reworking them later is tedious.
  • Product templates. Simple and variable products, size and colour selection, image galleries and the product page layout. Products are loaded by CSV import from your file; larger catalogues as a separate product entry service.
  • Payments and delivery. Montonio, Maksekeskus or Stripe, plus Omniva, DPD and Smartposti parcel lockers with shipping rate rules. We choose the provider after looking at your case. For an existing shop there is a separate service.
  • VAT and invoice numbering. VAT rates for Estonia and, where needed, other EU countries, with prices displayed including VAT. For accounting rules we follow your accountant.
  • Order e-mails and customer accounts. Order confirmations and status notices in your branding, customer accounts with order history, and reliable sending with SPF and DKIM records in place.
  • Discount rules. Coupons, quantity discounts and campaign rules that you can change yourself later.
  • SEO and analytics. Rank Math SEO with product schema (schema.org JSON-LD) and an XML sitemap, plus GA4 e-commerce events (view, add to cart, purchase) through Google Tag Manager.
  • Speed and security. Caching, image optimisation, backups and a lean plugin set. We check the result against Core Web Vitals.
  • Test orders and training. We run the whole checkout with a real payment, check the e-mails and parcel locker selection, and hand the shop over with hands-on training.

WooCommerce or Shopify

We get asked this a lot. Shopify suits you if you want a hosted platform for a monthly fee and do not want to deal with servers or updates. With WooCommerce the shop and its data belong to you, there is no platform fee or platform transaction fee, Estonian payment and parcel locker integrations exist, and content, SEO and customisation are less restricted. In return, you are responsible for hosting and updates. If you already run a Shopify store and want to move, see Shopify to WooCommerce migration.

Typical situations

A retailer who has sold only in a physical shop and on Facebook and wants orders in a proper system. A manufacturer or importer who needs a consumer shop next to the company website. A shop on a hosted platform whose monthly fee and limitations have become too expensive. A wholesaler who wants to sell part of the range directly to consumers. Examples of our work: the Bravo Tehnika e-shop with Erply integration, the Nordenbeauty e-shop in seven languages, and the ProSwim e-shop, where we import the supplier’s product feed and manage club and wholesale prices.

What we need from you

  • A product list with prices, descriptions and images (Excel or CSV is fine).
  • Logo, brand colours and examples of shops you like.
  • Contracts with the payment provider (Montonio, Maksekeskus or Stripe) and parcel locker operators, or the go-ahead for us to help you set them up.
  • Delivery and returns terms and VAT details from your accountant.
  • Access to the domain and hosting, or a decision on where the shop will live.

What is not included

  • Accounting integrations (SmartAccounts, Merit Aktiva), Erply, warehouse and CRM connections are separate services.
  • Product feeds for Google Merchant Center and price comparison sites are a separate service.
  • Server-side GA4 and Meta CAPI tracking is a separate service.
  • Product copywriting, photography and translations.
  • A fully bespoke design from Figma or a complete multilingual setup, which we estimate separately.

Who it suits

A company that is starting online sales or moving from a hosted platform to a shop of its own, with anything from a few dozen to a couple of thousand products. If you already have a WordPress website, it usually makes more sense to add a shop to the existing site. For customer groups and wholesale pricing, see the B2B online shop service.

Frequently asked questions

How long does building a WooCommerce shop take?

Usually a few weeks from receiving your materials. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly products, texts and payment contracts are ready. We start with a free review and estimate.

What does a WooCommerce shop cost?

The page shows an estimated scope and we bill by actual time spent. Also budget for hosting, payment provider transaction fees and any paid plugins as running costs.

Do I need my own contract with Montonio or Maksekeskus?

Yes, the contract is between your company and the payment provider. We help you choose a suitable provider and guide the application; the technical setup is ours.

Can I change products, prices and discounts myself later?

Yes, that is a strength of WooCommerce. We train you at handover and from then on you manage products, stock, coupons and orders yourself.

Does WooCommerce work for selling in several languages?

Yes, multilingual shops are handled with a translation plugin. Setting up and translating additional languages is separate work that we estimate by the number of languages.
