You have a finished HTML/CSS/JS site, a static page built by a freelancer or a purchased HTML template, and you want to edit the content without calling a developer. We turn it into a proper WordPress theme that looks exactly like the original design.

You end up with a site where you can change text, images and menus in the admin panel, and where URLs, SEO and speed are in order.

What the job includes

  • Theme structure. We split the HTML into header, footer and page templates and load the CSS and JavaScript the WordPress way (wp_enqueue_style and wp_enqueue_script), so nothing clashes with plugins.
  • Pixel-accurate design. We compare the result with the original on desktop, tablet and phone and fix every difference.
  • Editable content. Text, images, buttons and repeating blocks become editable through ACF fields or Gutenberg blocks. We choose after seeing the template, depending on how flexible you need the content to be.
  • Menus. Header and footer menus are managed in the WordPress menu editor, and the mobile menu keeps its original behaviour.
  • Forms. The contact form in the template (often a broken PHP script or an external service) is replaced with a WordPress form solution, and we check that the emails really arrive.
  • SEO. We install an SEO plugin, carry over existing titles and meta descriptions and set up the XML sitemap.
  • Redirects. Old .html URLs get 301 redirects to the new ones, so Google rankings and external links are not lost.
  • Performance. We optimise images, fonts and scripts and leave out the unused code that templates often ship with.

What we need from you

  • The HTML template as files (a ZIP or a folder), or access to the current site if it is already online.
  • Access to the WordPress installation or hosting where the theme will go. If there is no installation yet, we set one up.
  • A note on which parts must be editable (only text, or also the order of blocks).
  • For a purchased template, the licence, so that its use is legitimate.

Frequently asked questions

Will the design stay exactly the same?

Yes, the aim is a pixel-accurate result. We check the site on desktop, tablet and phone and fix deviations before handover.

Do I need ACF or Gutenberg blocks?

We choose after seeing the template. ACF suits pages with a fixed structure, blocks suit cases where you want to rearrange parts of a page yourself.

What happens to the old .html URLs?

We set up a 301 redirect from each old URL to its new address, so rankings and incoming links are kept.

Can you use a purchased HTML template?

Yes, as long as it has a proper licence. We review the template code before starting and tell you honestly whether it is in a good state to convert.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

We start with a free review and estimate, and bill the actual time spent. Work usually begins within 1–3 working days.
