Migrate a Voog Website to WordPress

Your website is on Voog, but you have outgrown it. You want more flexibility, control over your own data or a better online shop. We do the migration so visitors and Google notice a better site, not missing content.

Voog has no direct WordPress export. We carry the content over through scraping and the Voog API, then check it manually.

What the job includes

Content transfer. Pages, texts, headings and meta data are moved automatically (scraping and the Voog API), then we check every page by hand.
Structure. We rebuild the menu and page hierarchy so visitors find everything in the same place.
URLs and 301 redirects. Where possible we keep the same URL structure, and the remaining old URLs get 301 redirects to the new ones so rankings are kept.
Forms. Contact and enquiry forms are rebuilt in WordPress and we test that the emails arrive.
Multilingual structure. If the site is in several languages, we set up multilingual support (the solution is chosen after looking at the case) and hreflang tags.
Blog. Blog posts are moved with their dates, categories and images.
Images. We export images from Voog, optimise them and add them to the WordPress media library.
Domain and DNS switch. We prepare the new site in a separate environment and switch the domain at the time that causes the least interruption.
WooCommerce (optional). Voog has its own e-commerce. If you use it, we can move products and categories to WooCommerce. See below for what that covers.

What is not included

Creating a new design. In a migration we reproduce the current look or use a ready-made theme. For a new theme see moving to a new theme.

Can Voog be exported to WordPress automatically?

There is no direct export. We carry the content over through scraping and the Voog API and check every page manually.

Will my Google rankings be kept?

We work to keep them: the same URLs where possible and 301 redirects for the rest. No one can give a full guarantee, but the risk is small.

What happens to my Voog shop?

We can move products and categories to WooCommerce. Based on volume and data, we decide whether to import or enter them by hand.

Will the site be down during the move?

No. The new site is built in a separate environment and the domain is switched only after checks.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?
