Members area and paid content for WordPress

If you want to keep part of your content behind a login, such as course materials, reseller price lists, club news or a paid article archive, you need a members area. That means registration, login, roles and rules about who sees what. We build a members area on your WordPress site that works smoothly for the member and for you.

Membership can be free (for example approved resellers) or paid through WooCommerce, as a one-off payment or a recurring one.

What the work includes

• Needs review. We clarify who the members are, what they see, how they join and whether membership costs money.
• Registration and login. Registration form, login, password reset and email confirmation, styled to match your site. Manual approval if needed.
• Roles and levels. Several membership levels (for example basic and premium) plus an administrator role, deciding which content is open to whom.
• Protected pages and posts. Chosen pages, posts or whole categories are visible only to logged-in users or members of a given level. Others see a preview and an invitation to join.
• Paid or free membership through WooCommerce. Membership is bought in the shop, payments go through the methods you choose and access is granted automatically.
• Subscriptions and renewals. Automatic monthly or yearly renewal, retries for failed payments, expiry reminders and cancellation, using for example WooCommerce Subscriptions where it fits.
• Drip content. New material opens to a member a set time after joining, such as a weekly course lesson.
• Account page. The member’s own page showing membership, payments and validity, where details can be changed.
• Restricted downloads. Files (PDF, ZIP) are protected so a direct link does not work without logging in.
• Administration. A view of members, manual adding, level changes and export.

• Administrator access to WordPress and to WooCommerce if payments are involved.
• The files and pages to protect, or a list of them.

Typical scenarios
