You have a website but nowhere to publish news, guides or articles. WordPress has a posts system built in, but in many designs it is bare-bones or missing altogether. We build the blog so it looks like part of your site, not a bolted-on extra.

The work happens on your existing site and in your existing design. At the end you can add posts yourself and they appear properly formatted.

What the work includes

  • Blog index. A list of posts in your design, paginated, with image, date and excerpt.
  • Single post template. Title, image, body, date and navigation to the previous and next post.
  • Categories and tags. A structure and archive pages for them, helping readers find similar content.
  • Author box. The author’s name, photo and short bio at the end of the post.
  • Related posts. Suggestions of articles on the same topic to keep readers on the site.
  • RSS feed. Making sure the WordPress RSS feed works and outputs the right content.
  • SEO and schema. Meta titles and descriptions, an XML sitemap and article schema.org JSON-LD markup. We use your SEO plugin.
  • Sharing. Simple share links and social previews (Open Graph).
  • Comments. Together we decide whether comments are on, moderated or off, and set up spam protection.
  • First posts. We format your texts properly: heading hierarchy, images, links and categories.

What we need from you

  • Access to the site admin and details of the theme or page builder you use.
  • Post texts and images if you want us to publish the first ones.
  • Decisions on comments and the author box, and any category wishes.

What is not included

  • Writing articles and content strategy. Broader SEO work belongs under SEO.
  • A general redesign of the site. See web development.
  • Publishing posts for you on a regular basis. That is part of website management.

Who this is for
